Visiting the gallery

When are you open?

We are open 7 days a week, from 10am until 5pm Monday to Saturday and 10am until 4pm on Sundays. We are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Can I park nearby?

If you’re just visiting us, you might want to try the free 1-hour on-street parking spaces right behind the gallery but beware, there are only 4 of them! If you’re here for longer, the main car parks are just a 5-10 minute walk away.

Deliveries & Returns

Can you deliver to us, and is it secure?

With a few exceptions we can securely pack and arrange delivery of almost all our art, craft and jewellery. We use a range of delivery services, including Royal Mail, standard couriers and specialist art couriers, depending on what we are sending. In all cases deivery and packing are charged at cost. If you are purchasing through our online store you will see the delivery cost added a the checkout.

All deliveries are arranged as soon as possible on receipt of your order. Delivery by art courier can take up to 7-10 days as these services generally run once a week.

Do you deliver overseas?

We are happy to ship many of our artworks overseas, though the complexity of pricing means that this cannot be arranged through our online shop. Please call us on 015394 32022 or email gallery@ocg-arts.com with your full address and details of what you would like to purchase, and we can arrange for a quote.

We can also provide zero-rate VAT prices for exports, which often helps to offset the delivery cost. However, please note that you will be responsible for the payment of any import taxes collected by your country. Unfortunately, we are unable to assist with estimating what those taxes may be.

Can I return my purchase?

At our discretion we will exchange or give a credit note for items purchased in-store at The Old Courthouse Gallery, Ambleside. Items must be returned in their original condition & packaging and within 5 working days (or within 30 days where an item is agreed to be faulty) unless other prior arrangements have been made with the gallery. Please contact us about your intention to return goods. Neither Commissioned artwork nor pierced ear-rings may be returned.

If you choose to return an on-line purchase you must contact us within 14 calendar days after you receive your order. You then have a further 14 calendar days to return the item to us. We will refund you in the same form of payment originally used for purchase within 14 days of OCG Arts Ltd receiving your return. You will be credited for the price of the purchase minus the original cost of postage.  Please note that pierced ear-rings cannot be returned.

How do I ask about displaying my work in the gallery?

We welcome applications from new artists, whether you are looking to partner with a gallery for the first time or are an established artist wanting to expand. Full details of the process can be found in the Artist Submissions section of this website.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes, we have a full range of gift vouchers available to purchase in the gallery or through our online shop.

What is Own Art?

Own Art is a funding scheme supported by Arts Council England, Creative Scotland and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. It makes buying the art and crafts you love simple and affordable by spreading the cost over 10 interest-free monthly instalments.

You can use the Own Art scheme to buy a wide range of paintings, ceramics and sculpture, glass and furniture from across our collections. You can borrow from £150 up to £2,500 and this can cover single or multiple pieces, or even part-finance a more expensive work of art.

Are my card details safe when I buy from your online store?

Yes, we use Stripe, which is a third-party service, to process your online payments. Stripe is a fully Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant provider, which means your card details and payment are processed and stored securely. We have no access to this information.
