Jo Hearn
Jo Hearn studied Fine Art in London before working as a painter using abstract and semi-abstract subject matter. After obtaining her own kiln, she began to explore the medium of clay and glaze with great freedom. Jo’s wall plaques are based on images taken from her paintings and from photographs of landscapes.
Using stoneware clay each piece is slab built, incised and bisque fired. Jo uses a variety of underglazes, opaque and semi-transparent glazes and lustres, with 2-4 firings per wall plaque. The plaques are mounted on a sandblasted glass backplate or on a white board. Each piece is unique.
Jo Hearn is based in Staffordshire and has been creating beautiful ceramics for nearly twenty years.
