Andrea Mosey is a contemporary landscape artist working from her home studio in Thirsk. Through her paintings she aims to tell the stories of the places we love through the use of colour, light and shade. Andrea is inspired by the natural landscape and enjoys painting big skies and dramatic landscapes that capture an ethereal quality of light. Evocative, calming and peaceful landscapes that convey a sense of time and place.
Andrea works predominantly in oils using a layered approach to create a depth and texture. Her work usually is in a semi abstract style, preferring to let the viewer interpret the piece in a way that is meaningful to them. Starting with a reference image and then overlaying this with how she feels about that particular landscape, the memories she has of it, the impact of the weather, the time of day and the emotion she is trying to convey.
Andrea exhibits in galleries throughout the UK
