'Landscape painting is a vast subject and I believe that each artist has to find their own 'way in' to select and create a unique interpretation that gives them a consistent method of subject selection that enables them to express their own voice.
For me, it was necessary for me to return to my roots based in the North Yorkshire Moors and to my life in my large and musical family. Memories of melody ringing out from our home and resounding across the moorland has influenced the whole of my life and so it was a natural progression for me as an artist to connect my musical background with my love of the English countryside.
Living now in South Yorkshire with the Peak District National Park bordering the county - there is a never ending source of inspiration for hills and moorland.'
