Hand sculpted glass frozen wave with a clear core, layered with coloured glass shards encased in crystal clear glass. Size: 13 x 19.5 x 11cm.
When making, the piece is quenched in cold water to crackle the surface like frozen ice and hammered to represent waves and spray frozen mid-air. Fire polishing and annealing removes sharp edges and stabilises the piece.

The inspiration for Frozen Wave comes from the love of travelling to, sailing in and diving in remote polar oceans and coastlines.
Seeing the waves crashing and breaking and then contrasting with icy waters slowly freezing over into pancakes then pack ice.
